Updated: Apr 20

MIAMI, March 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- A Little Hope Foundation is pleased to announce a new partnership with Dell computer company to provide technology support for the foundation's Scholarship Program, which serves underrepresented and underprivileged students who seek a degree from a qualified university.

"It's an honor to partner with Dell on this important initiative to fight for equal rights for historically underrepresented students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Dell's contribution of high-performance laptop computers will enhance our ability to deliver on our mission to inspire these young people to reach for more," said Louis Hernandez Jr., founder of A Little Hope Foundation.

Dell contributed high-performance laptops, valued at nearly $20,000, that meet the needs of aspiring students and expose them to some of the best technologies on the market.

A Little Hope Foundation will contribute the laptops to recipients of its Scholarship Program, which provides up to $10,000 in scholarships annually. Qualified students have the opportunity to receive one $2,500 scholarship a year and other assistance from the foundation. The scholarships are granted based on assessment of need and university selection.

Dr. Emma Lerew, executive program director at A Little Hope Foundation and member of the board of directors, said, "Dell's gifts will be uplifting to the worthy recipients of our Scholarship Program who receive the laptops, whose structured use are mandatory for achieving higher education. Dell's partnership also further enhances our ability to sustain this important work in the community. I am so pleased to work with such a well-known and inspired corporate citizen."

Hernandez, managing member, CEO and founder of private equity firm Black Dragon Capital, is the son of a traditional Latin family that instilled the importance of a love for education, hard work, family and community. He followed these four pillars and reached success in his own life as an entrepreneur, business executive and author. In 2012, he established A Little Hope Foundation to find ways to position underprivileged youth to triumph over their own circumstances through education, healthcare, the arts and leadership development initiatives.

A Little Hope Foundation and its principals have funded children's hospitals, science centers, Junior Achievement, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, education foundations, and sports leadership development organizations.

A Little Hope Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization created to support the needs of underrepresented and underprivileged children through education, healthcare, the arts, and youth leadership development. Our goal is equal opportunity for all children. We believe their aspirations should be limited only by their own imagination of what is possible, their effort and commitment, and desire to contribute to their community. We help provide the tools and capabilities they need to fulfill their life purpose and become constructive members of our global community. Our primary vehicle for giving is our Scholarship Program and partnership activities with other like-minded organizations. To learn more, please visit www.alittlehopefoundation.org.
